I am the licensee and league operator for southeastern Pa. in the area between Harrisburg and Philadelphia. I started as a tavern owner in 1985 and with the help of some other tavern owners we brought the APA into Chester county and I eventually became the regional director. I stayed involved with the league until 1998 when I became unhappy with the APA and a friend talked me into playing in the T.A.P.I helped organize a small league from the other A.P.A. teams that felt the same way I did. After one session I dropped all 4 teams out of the A.P.A. and we joined the T.A.P. league. In October 1999, I sold the tavern, but stayed involved in keeping the league going for my friends ( we had no league operator). In April of 2000 the management of T.A.P. asked me to run the southeast Pa. area. First, I turned it down. Then, my wife Wanda explained to me that , for years she listened to me complain about all the things wrong with the A.P.A. and this would give me the chance to do things right. I called the T.A.P. management and here I am.
WAYS I CAN PLAN ON MAKING A DIFFERENCE
1. Going to the matches (hanging out with the players).
2. Tournaments for all local Tap players. Run tournaments that I can keep the big guns from winning all the money , such as 2 and 3's only; 4 and 5's only. Also, handicapped team tournaments.
3. Stay on top of the handicaps!! Get everybody to understand my policy that if you give a fair game you'll get a fair handicap.
4. Help teams at the Titleholders tournament by helping them understand rule differences, catching their mistakes so they don't keep making them and even wake up the players so they don't miss their match.
